Dry Eye Procedures  When eye drops and medications are not successful providing comfort, or when Contact lenses cannot be tolerated well with aging, Punctal occlusion can cause the tears to exit the eye slower often improving eye comfort.  The punctum is an opening in the nasal corner of each upper and lower eyelid that allows tears to exit the eye and run into the nose.  (perhaps here we could put a picture to make it self explanatory)
